Okay, summary of a few posts--

Staging solenoids are precise-- which is why they are five times the price of a standard solenoid. Thirty bucks rather than five dollars and eighty nine cents, which I can live with.

The metal backed mirror on the 2b/2c body only needs a black velvet rub bar above and below the gate level between the body and shutter with MINIMAL contact to seal well enough for a six hour daylight f11 with XT320 stock.

The baseplates show up on eBay from time to time. The Technovision and Panavision verions are better than the Arri version.

Now you've jogged my memory. I think I have an Arri 2c three focal length Technovision prime anamorphic set, someplace, and some 2b/2c mags-- including a modified dual compartment armored Cineflex four hundred that runs up to about 86fps. I only got into the Konvas because the costs of maintaining the Arri line was spiraling upward too fast, but when I found the peformance of LOMO anamorphics that hooked me.

I still don't like the Konvas-- or the Eclair, either.

As for facebook?

What if you don't have a face to post?

About ten years ago I had a
"time lapse staging solenoid" drive for the Arri 2b/2c camera, and it worked
like a charm, but would be cheaper to build than to buy.

Get an Arri
or Panavision brand "flat base adapter" for the camera. That's made to
put the camera motor beside the camera, not under it-- but then, instead of
an Arri motor get an off the shelf "staging solenoid" used on sorting
conveyor belts, and set it up to pull a ratcheted drive cog mounted where
the motor would normally go. This means you can program the staging
solenoid to trip at given intervals, anywhere from twenty or so times a
second down to once a month. The difference is that when it fires it
fires fast, and you get a properly exposed, advanced, and handled
frame.

If you do get a motor from Clive, it will work, but staging
solenoids are interval set items, the motors are
not.
make another option to tranfer video to film for my customers )

SO i need info about a TOBIN motor for low speeds ... frame by frame 1
fps 2fps 3 fps .... (like the timelapse ones ...) to mount it on my Arri2C
