I had to go in a taxi as I fractured my leg 3 weeks ago and ended up finishing early on a lucrative job. There's only 3 aluminium cases and a couple of boom poles which weigh about 20kgs in total. Anyway, I had a nice driver with all the right muscles in the right places, if you know what I mean. Yes, I knew the Director was Burton but have never met him. I have met his partner though, Ms Bonham Carter at the Chichester festival some years ago when she was 'friendly' with Kenneth Branagh. You do know that she probably has more political friends than George Bush! There is evidence that more woman are now becoming involved in film making. Before they were office bound and controlled the process from behind office walls but things are changing. Film schools used to take on male students only based on the premise that they would finish the course as their parents were paying for their studies they favoured the boy in the family as the bread winner but attitudes have changed over the years and now woman are considered to be equal in terms of family responsibilities. That's the theory anyway. More and more woman are applying for film jobs nowadays and from what I have seen are doing an equal job to men even 'humping' heavy dollies and gear. The problem is that the film industry is still attracting people of either sexes with "privileged" backgrounds and that is wrong IMO. These "rotton eggs" are on every film set and just do not pull their weight. The production companies cannot do a thing about it . It makes me mad, really mad! Just look at the credits of many major films over the years. The talented do not always get the credit they deserve and only get a 'meague' second billing and not even that sometimes. Thankfully, film production crew now work for specialised firms who bid for a segment in the film to which suits their range of expertise which can only filter out the A......L's. As you know the industry family is a small one wherever you go in the world so you eventually bump into someone you have met before and exhange inhouse 'gossip' which can be in you favour if you are looking for work. Hope your CP16mm is up and running and putting it to good use. Best regards Rita ( I now told that the camera I saw could have been an Arri 765 but that's 65mm!) -------------------------------1221856095 Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; charset=3DUS-ASCII"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.6000.16711" name=3DGENERATOR></HEAD> <BODY id=3Drole_body style=3D"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #000000; FONT-FAMILY:=20= Arial"=20 bottomMargin=3D7 leftMargin=3D7 topMargin=3D7 rightMargin=3D7><FONT id=3Drol= e_document=20 face=3DArial color=3D#000000 size=3D2> <DIV>Hello Freya,</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>By all means if you want to come along with me you can.&nbsp; I had to=20= go=20 in a taxi as I fractured my leg 3 weeks ago and ended up finishing early on=20= a=20 lucrative job.
