Are you ready for Winter? Message-ID: Hey Konvateers! I know we?ve been busy lately, but wanted to see who is filming what these days? Commercials? Promo pieces? Any films in planning? Anyone using Soviet glass on any cool new projects? Anyone shooting actual film? Anyone using a Konvas or Kinor for any upcoming projects? I?m still pretty busy with the brewery and tasting room, so, other than cell phone photography for social media, 2019 has been mostly a wash for filming. Hoping in 2020, to start shooting a series of interviews where we discuss beer, brewing, and business, but we?ll see. I need time to put it all together, Anyway, just wanted to say ?Hi" to everyone! Hope y?all are doing well! I had an incredible experience shooting for the first time on a Konvas 1m, 12months ago, entirely shot on expired Fuji and Kodak stock of all speeds, it was a pleasure. 4 lenses, all OCT18 - 18mm, 35mm, 75mm and 135mm. Two labs in Toronto handled the 100minutes of material - Niagara and Frame Discreet, both were a pleasure to deal with and the 5K scans were sublime. I look forward to shooting 35mm. Whenever I can, I will. Nothing compares. It's ridiculous. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Hi Everyone! Well for me, this past year has been a very busy yet productive one. The short film ?Pendulum?, that I shot, made the film festival rounds, was really well received and even garnered some best cinematography nominations - which was really cool. Originally I wanted to shoot the film on my Kinor 35H, but budget constraints ultimately forced us to go the digital route and so I shot on the Ursa Mini. I am currently in pre-production to shoot another short next month with the same writer and director from ?Pendulum? and this time we are shooting with an Arri Alexa?but with Soviet glass! I?ll make sure to post some screen grabs once we?ve begun production. Also I?ve shot a handful of things with my Beaulieu Super8 and Bolex H16 for a couple of commercial productions and hope to continue shooting more film in 2020! Safe Holidays, Everyone! Have been wondering about it recently. Good to hear from some people! My fall has been going pretty well. Busy, but can't complain. My partners and I have been working on an anthology horror film in the tradition of 1970s Amicus Productions. We shot a number of days this past summer. Two of the shorts are complete and two are being edited at present. A fifth will be shot this spring. It's mostly just an excuse to shoot something and experiment around with different things. It's being taken fairly seriously though and we'll try to market the finished product the best we can. It has all manner of formats in it - Super 8, 16/S16, 35, and numerous video sources from SD to 4K. We're definitely having some fun with it. I'll keep y'all posted on our progress. Definitely hope everyone is well and keeping busy. Would love to hear what everyone has going on. Have a great holiday season! Hard to believe the oughts and teens of the 21st century are history already. Crazy! Cheers!
