Interesting screen grab. Adam.I thought the early Konvas’s had an 8 volt motor but this one looks like a 12 volt later type. Just trying to date when Jane Fonda paid a visit to North Vietnam or was this after the war finished. The cameraman is a VC and probably doing a propaganda news piece for the cause. Shooting 35mm for TV?Sharp of you to spot the camera.RIta. (-13 last night. Brrr!)On 13 Dec 2017, at 10:24, Anders Banke via Cinema <cinema at konvas.org> wrote:HiYes, definitely a Konvas-1. I have a virtually identical camera sitting onthe shelf of my little "mini camera museum" (serial No. 62 007, so I call itthe "James Bond camera" :-) ). Stands to reason the Soviet Union would havesupplied their allies with the means of making propaganda./Andders 1. Konvas-1? (Adam Frey)I have been watching the Ken Burns documentary series ?The Vietnam War?.Honestly, it?s a good series, on a (still) very touchy subject. But I caughtthis shot and payed the TV, as this frame showed what I believe is theKonvas-1 - the original Konvas. I believe it is the Konvas-1 due to the fatfront end, under the lens turret. But I may be wrong. Thoughts?I know this is can still be a controversial topic, with Vietnam & JaneFonda, but I?m hoping we can focus on the camera behind all this, andrealize what a great news camera it was.WE COULD REALLY USE YOUR HELP!
