[Konvas] Cinema Digest, Vol 110, Issue 6

Have never voted red although some of their doctrine I support, eg, put money into the film industry when needed etc. Voted blue as they have also done a lot for the film industry including expansion of Pinewood studios, allowing uncle Walt, Lucas and Warner to invest millions in their new studio complexes here with added bonus's/ incentives/ employment etc. All the parties
Seem to offer something. The British film industry has never been so healthy. Lots of opportunities for setting up your own little business supporting the studios ie, model making, props construction, specialist workshops, costumes, riggers, camera support systems, scenery printers. There are already established firms which have been running for years but new blood is always welcome. What is needed is modern mobile catering firms that serve great food. There are lots of people in this game but cannot cook and serve food from old converted rusty buses with hard seats but I understand that there is little profit in running a catering truck as production company's drive the unit price per head right down to the bare bones hence the catering vehicles
Are old and drab. As it always rains here you would think that someone would make a vehicle that has a folding roof that slides out to protect the talent from the elements. Nothing worse than eating a wet sandwich while rain trickles down your neck. Who said that filming is glamorous.
