I like using the maximum of the film capacity in the 200 ft mag. So one morning i get up with the idea the best way to using those mag is the Russian way: with the metal Russian core.
So you need a device to reload those core on a rewinding arm in a dark room. The problem is you have not much space to build a inside square hold in it, and i came up with the idea of using an outside day light reel for 16mm (a 200 ft) I took apart to get a square hold for the film rewinder.
I already have 3 adapted core like Raf made but made on a local machine shop.
The big advantage with the split i could reload my film myself on a Russian Core easily.
The pick up could be a Kodak core or also a Russian metal core.
Now on I like my 200ft (60m) mag. I got 5 of them and I have also have 3 x 400 ft.
